Dance Theatre of Tennessee was born out of a desire to blend the elegance and strength of world class professional dancers with the budding creativity and energy of youth. Through the inspiration of principal dancer and Artistic Director, Christopher Mohnani, DTT provides unique educational and performance opportunities through its international company and youth ensemble.

With the goal of exposing new audiences to the beauty and excitement of live dance theatre, DTT travels the area creating affordable, accessible entertainment while maintaining unrivaled artistry. Outstanding international dancers offer diverse performances that highlight classical dance with a contemporary flair while igniting great enthusiasm from their audiences.

DTT’s Academy of performing arts offers an exceptional, caring approach to training that seeks to enrich its students with the joy of dance while allowing them optimal performance opportunities. Students are offered the very best instruction by world class professionals. Programs are provided in both recreational and pre-professional dance and offer a wide variety of choices ranging from classical ballet to hip-hop. Adult classes are also available.

Founded in 2009, Dance Theatre of Tennessee has reached thousands through its numerous community outreach programs. This school year DTT introduces an important “Anti-bullying” Program aimed at grades 1 through 5 and patterned after the award winning program by Ballet Nouveau in Colorado. It utilizes best practices from the anti-bullying field and provides schools with an artistic method of assisting students in creating a caring community.
